Halloween! Just kidding, we don't celebrate that thing anymore...
So, did you wonder what we did? Sit at home, stare at the floor, go to bed early, pretend it's just another normal day? Noooo....
Happy Martin Luther Day!

Soon after realizing we just didn't like what we were "celebrating" last year, we were doing history and learned about Martin Luther, the courageous and bold German monk who wrote and posted his 95 theses... on October 31, 1517.
No way! awesome! What a great and wonderful thing to celebrate! (I hope you all know about it, if not, go get a book about him... He was probably the only reformer not to be burned at the stake, he later was married and had six children)
I was really, REALLY excited this year to not celebrate that other thing... Phew, felt like freedom! Ahhh... feels so good to be FREE!
So, what'd we do?
Well, since this date landed on Monday we had a lesson about him, sang "Away in a Manger" which he wrote, then the kids went downstairs to costume up and perform their version of the 95 theses scenario and related events...
it was very dramatic... with some swords added in...
It was a great production!
("Stop selling indulgences!!")
BUT-- the BEST part was when Dad acted out his versions of how things happened...
Oh dear, that man is HILARIOUS!
Also, a few days earlier, our great neighbors invited us over for dinner, a tractor ride through town, and bonfire.
They are so wonderful.
It is such a blessing to have good neighbors.
